Spoilers! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. contains PG-13 level content.
"It only takes one to start a revolution." - Robbie ReyesS.H.I.E.L.D. is back in more ways than one! You may have some questions. How's AIDA doing? What's up with the Inhumans? How is Jeffrey Mace adjusting to the title of "new boss"? And last, but certainly not least, what exactly is going on with May? The answers to those questions and more can be found in the latest episode in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Let's get started!
My Favorite Moments
★ Let me tell you, this entire episode was AWESOME.
★ I'm still in love with Robbie Reyes. I love everything about him. His quiet personality, his sweet-against-all-odds demeanor. I'm also in love with his dynamic with Daisy, which is one of my favorite things this season.
★ But I also love Gabe, who deserves a point of his own. I really appreciate the representation of a disabled person in media. I love his personality, his wit, and his dynamic with his brother. Though I wish he hadn't sent Daisy away.
Y u do this, Gabe?
★ THE SPECIAL EFFECTS. HOLY WOW.
They were just as good as an Iron Man movie, which is shocking for prime-time television. I especially loved the floating brain hologram and the slow-motion view of YoYo running.
So nice, I had to feature it twice.
★ Ah, yes. Let's talk about YoYo now. Can I just say I love her? I love her confidence and her poise.
★ Also, would she and Mack just get together already?
★ I love Daisy and YoYo's friendship and how YoYo stood up for Daisy. Strong female friendships = my favorite thing.
★ I loved the tie-ins to the Sokovia Accords and the events of Civil War. And also... S.H.I.E.L.D. is back now?
My Least Favorite Moments
★ I'm pretty sure this episode elevated my heart rate to unhealthy levels. (I was genuinely terrified May was going to either die or be our first life model decoy. Thank goodness she isn't... yet.)
★ When Daisy shut off the radio at the end. I was not okay.
★ The fact that we don't know who this guy is.
Favorite Quote
Fitz: "You know what's a good light source? A guy with a flaming head."
Coulson: "Really bummed I missed that."
Mack: "No, you're not."
Fitz: "Sir. It was quite unsettling."
Overall
This was my favorite episode of the season thus far. The pacing was extremely exciting. We had solid moments from all our characters, and each plot line stood up to the test. Also, S.H.I.E.L.D. is back in the public eye! Huzzah! I can't wait to see how that unfolds in the coming weeks.
Did you see "Uprising"? What did you think of it?
