Wow, this week was a doozie. Shall we get started?
We start with a flashback of Jane telling Michael for
the first time that she’s not going to have sex. He is absolutely cool about it
and says they’ll just have to wait until they’re married. We flash forward to
Jane telling Xo about being open to the idea of having sex with Jonathan (not
Chavez anymore), but the conversation is cut short because Xo must be on her
way to talk to Rogelio. There, Xo and Ro start fighting about things they’ve
hidden from one another, and Xo brings up the Scientology discs (even the
narrator points out how long it’s been since those have been mentioned).
Rogelio says he would gladly show her the discs, but Xo realizes that isn’t the
point.
We later move on to Michael, who is questioning a man
who had his face changed by Sin Rostro. Michael convinces the man to help them
contact Rose. We then go to Jane and Rafael, and Rafael asks Jane to help Petra
with all of the baby stuff she is dealing with. Jane agrees and goes to talk
with Petra. Petra heartily accepts the help, including the offer of a baby
shower.
Jane later continues her talk with Xo about Jonathan and gets ready for dinner
with him. At dinner, things are going great until he asks her to come over to his
place. She isn’t quite ready, but when he invites her over the next day, she
agrees. The next morning, she goes over her plan with Xo, but they stop talking
when Abuela walks in. They disperse, and Xo goes to talk to Rogelio. He decides
he wants to show her the Scientology videos to clear the air. Turns out, Rogelio
was a gigolo on accident. Lame.
Rogelio then proposes again, but we never hear Xo say yes. We return to Jane,
who is talking to Petra. As they go over Jane’s baby shower registry, Petra is
being very nit-picky, and Jane is judging. When Petra vents to Rafael, he reveals
he was the one to set Jane up with her.
We go back to Rogelio on the set of his telenovela. He announces to everyone
that Xo is his new fiancée, but later when Xo sees him interacting with a kid,
she knows he still really wants to be a father. She confronts him about it and
he comes up with the solution of possibly freezing Xo’s eggs.
We return to Jane who is back at Jonathan’s place where things get hot and
heavy, but she last minute decides to tell him she’s a virgin. The entire thing
breaks the mood and they stop. (Thank the Lord.) When she goes home, she talks
to Xo about the entire thing, and Xo tells her about possibly freezing her
eggs. Abuela walks in again, so they stop the conversation. Luisa, on the other
hand, needs to talk to Rafael and apologizes for keeping contact with Rose. He
doesn’t accept the apology and as Luisa leaves she contemplates drinking again.
Jane goes back to Petra to clear the air, but things get complicated when Petra
reveals she kissed Rafael. Jane doesn’t care and tries to convince Petra of
this, but Petra reveals Rafael still wants to be with Jane. Jane goes to
confront Rafael…and guys...this was the final stab in the Rafael and Jane ship.
Jane says she’s honestly moved on. My heart. My love. I bleed. Many sadness. Much
tears.
We flash forward to Petra’s baby shower, but when Petra hasn’t shown up, Jane
starts getting pretty angry. While she goes upstairs to confront Petra, Xo
watches Mateo. While changing him, Xo comes upon an epiphany (which will be
revealed later). Jane comes to an okay place with Petra after she reveals she
wants to get closer to her so her son will be familiar with the family he has.
Petra then goes down to the baby shower.
We then go to Michael
setting up the plastic surgery guy to meet with Rose, but then they get
a call saying Luisa was drinking and in a really bad car crash. Meanwhile, Jane
starts sexting Jonathan and decides to meet up with him. She leaves the house
without any pants, and while she driving gets pulled over. When she finally does
make it to Jonathan’s place and he pulls out the condom, she starts crying. She
returns home dejected and reveals everything to Xo, but then Abuela walks in
again, so they disperse once more.
And then we get into some real intense stuff, guys. Plastic surgery guy is
waiting to meet up with Rose at the same time Luisa sits in the hospital. But
Rose never meets up with him; she goes to Luisa instead. But then we discover
Michael is actually hooked up to Luisa, and soon Susanna comes in to arrest
Rose. Shocked that Luisa set her up, Rose gets in contact with someone who
knows where Susanna’s family is, ready to kill them. Susanna hands over the
gun, and as Rose steps out with the gun barrel over Susanna’s head, Michael goes in
with backup. But not before Rose shoots Susanna in the leg. Michael runs after
Rose, but they’re too late. Rose is found dead on the ground, strangled with
blue silk ropes: Mutter’s signature.
Now with that over, we get back to Jane chilling with Abuela. Abuela reveals she
knows Jane was contemplating having sex, and she wants her to know she won’t
judge her, because she had sex before marriage. Turns out, it was that guy she
Google searched earlier; something Segura. Abuela then tells Jane that if she’s
crying about having sex, then it isn’t the right guy. Turns out, I had nothing
to worry about; this episode just proved my point. So thanks, yay!
Afterwards, Xo talks to Rogelio and says she doesn’t want to freeze her eggs and
breaks it off. Later that night, Rogelio watches his old Scientology tapes and
finds one about him confessing that the greatest love he ever had was Xo. More
tears. More sadness. Why????
Also, Rogelio was apparently writing to someone in prison about his love to Xo, and she’s getting out soon. That will probably be important later on, but for
now, eh.
We go back to Jane, who gets a text from Michael. He’s at her doorstep and
reveals that Rose is dead and that’s the only reason he pushed her away
because he knew Rose could threaten them. But now that she’s gone, he’s there…and
guys…I know I’ve said a lot of things. I’ve loved Rafael, I’ve fought for him.
But maybe I’ve been looking at it wrong. Because the feels that hit me when she
said she loved him back…genuine feels.
What did you guys think of this week’s episode?
